Welcome to California College of the Arts!
Embarking on your graduate studies is a moment of great excitement and anticipation. We’re confident you will find a tremendous array of opportunities and resources at CCA to make the next few years spectacular.
In recent years CCA has enhanced the graduate student experience through the development of new award-winning graduate studios and facilities, the augmentation of our stellar faculty body with new tenure-track faculty and international visiting artists, and the growth of new graduate programs that provide a deep interdisciplinary dialogue for all students. We have also built many bridges with Bay Area companies and organizations to pave the way to your career after graduation.
You have chosen to study at CCA to build on your passions and develop the knowledge and skills for a meaningful and successful professional life. CCA's faculty, administration, and staff expect you to be deeply engaged not only within your program but also with the other resources at the college, as well as with the remarkably creative community that surrounds us.
We encourage you to balance immersing yourself in coursework with connecting to the world beyond our campus. Our best advice for you is to step out of your studio as often as you can to take advantage of the rich art and design culture of the Bay Area; you'll undoubtedly find inspiration in the diverse social and natural environments here.
Be open, be generous, and be brave. Make connections with peers and seek mentors as soon as you can–graduate school goes by quickly! In return, we promise that you will learn more than just a profession; you will grow in ways that influence your life and others' long after graduation.
We look forward to meeting you in the coming weeks and wish you all the best for your time here at CCA.
Warmly,
Mark Breitenberg
Provost
Melanie Corn
Associate Provost

CCA's faculty, staff, and administration look forward to having you as part of our community and wish you academic and personal success throughout your time at CCA and beyond.
