About Monica Youn

Monica Youn is the author of Ignatz (Four Way Books, 2010) and Barter (Graywolf, 2003). Her poems have been published in numerous journals and anthologies, including Fence, the Paris Review, and Legitimate Dangers. For her work on Ignatz, she has been awarded the Witter Bynner Fellowship from the Library of Congress and residencies from the MacDowell Colony, the Corporation of Yaddo, and the Rockefeller Foundation. She received her undergraduate degree from Princeton, a masters degree in English from Oxford, where she was a Rhodes Scholar, and her law degree from Yale. She was a Stegner Fellow at Stanford University and has taught creative writing at Columbia University and Pratt Institute. She currently lives in New York and works as an attorney at the Brennan Center for Justice at NYU School of Law, focusing on election law issues.

About Matt Shears

Matt Shears is the author of the forthcoming poetry collection Where a Road Had Been (BlazeVOX). His work has appeared in such journals as Boston Review, Cutbank, Colorado Review, Denver Quarterly and Volt. Currently teaching at California College of the Arts, Shears holds a BA from the Miami University of Ohio, an MFA from the Iowa Writers Workshop, and a PhD from the University of Nevada, where is was a Schaeffer Fellow.
