Make it Happen is pleased to present DISSEMINATION, an interactive event celebrating the way one considers his or her own role in the construction of the knowledge of a community.

What do you know and how did you come to know it? We are examining the different ways in which individuals learn, are drawn into new experiences, and out of comfort zones. We play the role of subjective reporters, re-presenting the information acquired from public, private, and community events. Observing the dissemination of information within these events has given us insight into the motivations and relationships between performers and spectators. We are translating experiences that will be presented to a broad audience.

The event will feature a life drawing based on Diana Stapleton´s performance, Plein Air Life Drawing; Underground Poetry by Benjamin Marlowe; Mic Check Juke Box and E Chants by Dalia Anani; Interviews on the Globe by Ilyse Nagy; Sign Library by Jsun Parizo; Tactics for Non-Violent Documentation by Niel Rivas, and others.

DISSEMINATION is a class project created by Graduate Fine Arts students at California College of the Arts under the direction of Joyce Grimm. The course is called Making Things Happen and includes Melissa Dickenson, Wes Fanelli, Benjamin Marlowe, and Lauren Taylor.
