Julia Scheeres is a San Francisco–based journalist and nonfiction writer. She has been a contributing writer for the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, the San Francisco Chronicle, Wired News, and LA Weekly. Her 2005 memoir, Jesus Land, describing her relationship with her adopted brother and their Christian fundamentalist upbringing, was a New York Times bestseller.
