CCA is hosting “Hello Etsy San Francisco,” an official partner event to coincide with the Hello Etsy: A Summit on Small Business and Sustainability, which takes place in Berlin September 17–18. The San Francisco event takes place at CCA’s San Francisco campus on Sunday, September 18, and is free and open to the public.
The Etsy Summit is a hands-on gathering for attendees to connect with their peers, learn new business skills, and join the movement to build sustainable micro-economies. CCA is thrilled to sponsor this event in conjunction with the convenings in Berlin. Other partner events include the Smithsonian American Museum in Washington DC, GOOD in Los Angeles, Etsy Labs in New York, and Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland, OR.
For those who cannot attend, all sessions will be streamed, recorded, and available online at Etsy's Online Labs.
CCA is pleased to welcome the following persons:
Allison Arieff, contributing columnist to the New York Times, who will lead the keynote panel discussion, “From Prototype to Product,” in conversation with Miguel Nelson, CCA alumnus and founder of Woolly Pocket
Kate Sofis, founding executive director of SFMade
Patrick Buckley, creator, cofounder, and CEO of DODOcase
Additional featured talks will be lead by Rena Tom, retail strategist for creative businesses; CCA Community Arts chair and director of Center for Art and Public Life Sanjit Sethi; CCA alumna and founder of Little Paper Planes, Kelly Lynn Jones; CCA Fashion Design faculty member Lynda Grose.
The local Etsy contingent—I Heart Art: San Francisco—will host a live “making station” on site, so participants can leave with a handmade piece inspired by small business and sustainability.
RSVP at http://helloetsysf.eventbrite.com. (CCA students and faculty: stay tuned for ticket release information.)
All California College of the Arts alumni, students, faculty, and staff are welcome to join the CCA Team on Etsy.
