Founded by Ifeanyi Oganwu in 2008, Expand Design Ltd. is a London-based studio engaging in architecture and furniture design by investigating the correlations between history, base materials, and opportunities presented by state-of-the-art fabrication techniques. Through its projects, it unearths unidentified typologies that are inspired by the past, grounded in the present, and on a journey to a new aesthetic domain.

Oganwu studied architecture at the Illinois Institute of Technology, the Architectural Association in London, and Columbia University. He has worked for the offices of John Ronan Architects, Chicago, and Zaha Hadid Architects, London, and has collaborated with the fashion design studio of Hussein Chalayan. In 2003 he joined the London-based structural engineering practice of Adams Kara Taylor where he worked within their Parametric Applied Research Team to develop an integrated approach to explore and represent complex architectural scenarios.

The Design and Craft Lecture Series is funded by the Wornick Endowment Fund.

Generous support for CCA public programs in San Francisco has been provided by Grants for the Arts / San Francisco Hotel Tax Fund.
