Find out how you can get involved! Oakland Local's mission is to help underserved communities make their voices heard to effect positive social change and support economic development by using media and technology as capacity-building skills.
The organization does this by training members of underserved communities of color, youth, and small nonprofits to tell their own stories and be discoverable on the Web and via social networks and by operating Oakland Local, a news-community website where we publish writing and information from under-represented communities, youth, and local nonprofits is published.
