Due to the East Coast storm, this event will be rescheduled in the spring.
Mary Reid Kelley’s work is informed by her interest in language, literature, and history; it combines poetry, animation, performance, drawing, and video. The videos are executed in collaboration with her husband, the new media artist Patrick Kelley, and have been reviewed in the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, Artforum, the New Yorker, Flash Art, Frieze, and Art in America.
The making of their 2011 film The Syphilis of Sisyphus was covered in the PBS television show Art in the Twenty-First Century. Kelley was born in South Carolina in 1979. She graduated magna cum laude from St. Olaf College in 2001 and received her MFA in painting from Yale University in 2009. She has had recent solo shows in New York, Los Angeles, and London, and she completed a commissioned video for the 8th SITE Santa Fe Biennial in 2010.
