Ís means "ice" in Icelandic. It is also the abbreviation for the country of Iceland. CCA is pleased to announce an exhibition featuring works by artists and designers who participated in John Zurier's 2011 summer study-abroad course in Iceland. The course provided an introduction to traditional and contemporary Icelandic art and culture during a week in Reykjavik as well as two weeks of intensive experience of the nature, geography, history, and culture of western Iceland.

The emphasis was on experience and notation for future use in the studio. The exhibition includes photography, sculpture, drawing, painting, textiles, furniture, typography, and mixed media by Michael Bauch, Verna Bhargava, Courtney Costello, Aaren Esplin, Tej Greenhill, Jessica Jenkins, Eileena Long, Lindsey Lyons, Nicole Markoff, Ashley Pierce, Hilary Sanders, Dean Schneider, Katy Tuck, Sarah Ward, John Zurier, and Nina Zurier.
