Visit the cafés, bookstores, bars, and venues where the Beat Generation thrived. Led by poet Phil Lumsden, a second-year MFA in Writing Program candidate, each site is accompanied by a short selection from the writings of the Beats.
We'll indulge in poetry, prose, food, and beverage in North Beach, still one of the liveliest, artistic, and beautiful San Francisco neighborhoods and a fit introduction to one of the best literary cities in the world.
