Jeffrey Plank is the author of the new book Aaron Siskind and Louis Sullivan: The Institute of Design Photo Section Project. The lecture will be followed by a book signing. The book publishes for the first time a 1954 exhibition, directed by Aaron Siskind, of photographs of 35 different Louis Sullivan buildings. Many of Sullivan's buildings have since been demolished. The pictures are noteworthy for their startling juxtaposition of ornamental details and carefully composed building portraits.
