Material World addresses an array of concerns regarding the world we inhabit and issues of globalization, economy, commerce, consumerism, materialism, the immaterial, and the sublime. This group exhibition features the work of CCA graduate students, alumni, and faculty.
The exhibition is the first in an anticipated annual exchange between California College of the Arts and Alliance Française.
Exhibition curated by Charles Beronio, MFA '05 sculpture (currently a student in the MA Program in Visual Criticism); screening curated by Virginia Kleker, MFA film/video '05.
Artists: Alex Clausen, Sasha Dela, Sergio De La Torre, Mung Lar Lam, Ruth Laskey, Jake Longstreth, Carol Anne McChrystal, Alexandria Pembleton, Mark Rodriguez, Larry Sultan, Ryan Thayer, and Christina Turner.
