Michael Roth: "How We Pay Our Respects to the Past: Facts, Deeds, Piety"
Monday, March 20, 2006, 5:30 pm

Chosky Theater, Carnegie Mellon
Pittsburgh, PA

CCA president Michael Roth will discuss recent theoretical discourse on memory and trauma and will suggest a framework for the modalities of connecting with memory and history. An understanding of these modalities can inform the production of works of art, as well as our relationship to these works.

The lecture is organized by the Center for the Arts in Society and is connected to the course "Aesthetics Out of Bounds: History and Art Outside the Frame" at Carnegie Mellon.
