David Trubridge is the Wornick Distinguished Visiting Professor in Wood Arts for fall 2006. According to Trubridge, "The exciting and challenging future for design lies in rethinking the way we do things, not the things themselves."
He will look at the role design has played throughout history, at his own design development, and how that development has been influenced by his concern for the environment and his travels, particularly to Antarctica and Iceland.
Trubridge has lived and worked in Havelock, New Zealand, since 1985. His work is shown internationally, and he has designed for Cappellini and Boffi, among others.
