Pierre Huyghe: "ANALOG"
Graduate Studies Lecture Series
Monday, January 22, 7 pm

Timken Lecture Hall, San Francisco campus
Info: 415.703.9505

French artist Pierre Huyghe presents "ANALOG." Huyghe is among the most influential artists of his generation. Working across an enormous variety of media and disciplines—including film, video, animation, sound, sculpture, performance, installation, and architecture—Huyghe explores the permeable boundaries between reality and fiction and between memory and history. His work draws on the conventions of narrative (especially those of Hollywood film) to address fundamental questions of truth, reality, and identity.

Huyghe was featured in the 2006 Whitney Biennial, was the winner of the 2002 Hugo Boss Prize, and represented France at the 2001 Venice Biennale. Co-organized with UC Berkeley's Art, Technology, and Culture Colloquium, this lecture is supported by a grant from the Cultural Services of the French Embassy, Consulate General of France in San Francisco.
