Vancouver-based artist Steven Shearer's work explores the often debased and sometimes deviant mannerisms of adolescent (sub)cultures. Shearer combines interests in rock music, anthropology, and craft aesthetics in works that establish palpable tensions between "high" and "low" art. His work is included in the CCA Wattis Institute exhibition Baja to Vancouver.
