Respected and feared for his probing research into art-world politics and for his sharp commentaries on repressed social histories, Hans Haacke has influenced artists, curators, and critics internationally for over thirty years with his installations, texts, and sculptures. Born in Germany and living in New York since 1965, Haacke has been featured in four Documentas and three Venice Biennales, winning a prestigious Golden Lion Award in 1993.
