How do magazines and journals contribute to the development of art practice? Can writing and criticism shape how artists think and exhibitions are made? Editors from three leading U.S. magazines share their perspectives on these issues. Panelists Malik Gaines, coeditor of artUS and editor of Yard; Gary Kornblau, editor of the former Art issues and current editor of Art issues Press; and Tom Lawson, editor of Afterall, discuss the changing face of art publishing. Moderator: Kate Fowle, cochair, CCA Curatorial Practice Program. A reception to celebrate the launch of the new issue of Afterall follows the event, which also coincides with an exhibition at PLAySPACE, the CCA graduate gallery, focusing on the journal.
