Gord Peteran is the Wornick Distinguished Visiting Professor in Wood Arts this semester. The Toronto-based artist makes his living making furniture and taking commissions. He has many works in public buildings, including the Ontario Crafts Council and the Canadian Craft Museum. Known for his intelligent play with symbolism, metaphor, and meaning, Peteran says, "I use the tools I can control to pursue the things that elude me."
