Dana Schutz is a painter who lives and works in New York. Schutz' symbolic paintings evoke the ecstatic imagination with wild color. Her weird, seemingly improbable, gutsy paintings—a starry-eyed seer, a fifty-foot-tall rock star, the last man on earth—release a flood of associations and fantastical possibilities, the way a Moreau or a Redon might.
