Since 1975, Michael Fortune has designed and made furniture for private residences all over North America. He has consulted for international aid agencies in assisting furniture makers in developing economies. In 1993 he received the prestigious Bronfman Award. He was inducted into the Royal Canadian Academy of the Arts in 2000 and recently received a Queens Jubilee medal. Fortune conducts furniture-making workshops in the United States and Canada.
