The Center for Art and Public Life invites you to celebrate the launch of CrossConnections, a yearlong project focusing on issues in the Bay Area Iranian-American community. "of past and present" on view at Intersection for the Arts, is led by the center's visiting artist, Taraneh Hemami, and visiting scholar, Persis Karim.
CrossConnections will engage Iranian and Iranian-American artists and writers in an intergenerational, creative dialogue about issues of cultural identity, preservation, and representation in a transcultural and transnational context. Of Past and Present will be the first public presentation in a series of experimental collaborations exploring personal, political, and social concerns of the Bay Area Iranian-American community.
