Italian artist Gianni Motti intervenes in global communication networks with the intention of finding himself, in his words, "in the wrong place at the right time." Operating as a semiotic provocateur who draws on a wide range of publicity strategies, Motti infiltrates the flow of media news with evidence of fictitious presidential campaigns, his own funeral, or a mass telepathic demonstration aimed at forcing a politician to resign. Motti has been included in major exhibitions internationally, such as Manifesta 4 and the 2005 Venice Biennale, and his work is featured in A Brief History of Invisible Art at the CCA Wattis Institute.
