London-based Rick Poynor is among the world's leading critical theorists of design, media, and visual culture. Among the topics covered in his more than one dozen books are Brian Eno's early songs, digital typography, and postmodern graphic design. Poynor has also written prolifically for a host of magazines, newspapers, and journals, including Eye (which he founded in 1990), Print, Blueprint, Frieze, Icon, Domus, I.D., Metropolis, Harvard Design Magazine, Adbusters, The Guardian and The Financial Times. He is a cofounder of "www.designobserver.com":http://www.designobserver.com, a weblog for design discussion. Designing Pornotopia, a new essay collection, will be published by Laurence King in spring 2006.
