Opening reception: March 9, 6 - 9 p.m.
What happens if your art comes straight out of the box, can be found on the street, or belongs in a dumpster? Trying to Be Clever? is a group exhibition consisting of four artists – Nick Karvounis, Daniel Purbrick, Dan Reneau and Ryan Thayer – revisiting the histories of conceptual art and minimalism. Do these artists "make" art and what makes it different from everyday encounters, or is theirs an ironic twist on the austerity of conceptual art and everyday sensibilities?
