Pennina Barnett

Pennina Barnett is senior lecturer in the Visual Arts Department at Goldsmiths College, University of London, and Critical Studies course leader for BA Textiles. She writes about contemporary visual and material culture, contributes to art journals, and is cofounder and coeditor of Textile: The Journal of Cloth and Culture, published by Berg Publishers.
Curatorial work has included Craft Matters, The Subversive Stitch, Under Construction, and Textures of Memory: The Poetics of Cloth (all UK touring exhibitions). She has written extensively on the work of artist Chohreh Feyzdjou and is currently writing a book about cloth as a multidimensional metaphor for ideas of subjectivity, materiality, process, and language.
