Both an artist and the founding editor of Yishu: The Journal of Contemporary Chinese Art, Ken Lum is concerned with identity as it relates to image production in contemporary urban society. Working across multiple media, he challenges accepted ideas about the processes and pressures of cultural and political assimilation. All of his work examines public and private constructions of identity, space, and politics.
