The Los Angeles–based artist Monica Majoli explores issues of identity, intimacy, and mortality via sexually explicit imagery. Her current body of work involves life-size, luminously transparent images of rubber-clad figures suspended from trees in the woods. Majoli participated in the 2006 Whitney Biennial in New York, and has exhibited her work recently at the Pasadena Museum of Art; Gagosian Gallery, New York; P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center, Long Island City, New York; and Redcat Gallery, Los Angeles.
