Wendy Ju is a new assistant professor in CCA's Graduate Program in Design, specializing in interaction design. She is also a newly minted PhD from the Center for Design Research at Stanford University and the founder of Ambidextrous Magazine, Stanford's journal of design. Her current research focuses on how the intentional management of attention and initiative can enable novel and natural interfaces. Ju's work at the MIT Media Lab on an interactive kitchen counter was the direct predecessor to Microsoft's Kitchen of the Future console, and her work with Rehmi Post and Matt Reynolds on the Pengachu handheld Linux platform strongly influenced both Motorola's Linux phone development and the One Laptop Per Child initiative.
