Winy Maas (Schijindel, 1959) founded in 1991 together with Jacob van Rijs and Nathalie de Vries MVRDV. Early work such as the television centre Villa VPRO and the housing estate for elderly WoZoCo, both in the Netherlands, have lead to international acclaim and established MVRDV's leading role in international architecture.
Current projects in development are among others: the new television centre in Zürich, the new Market Hall for Rotterdam, and a number of housing and office projects in the Netherlands, Spain, Austria, France, England, Albania, United States, and China.
The work of MVRDV-Winy Maas is published and exhibited worldwide and received many international awards. Winy Maas is currently visiting progessor of architectural design at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and is professor in architecture and urban design at the faculty of architecture, Delft University of Technology.
