Nancy Chan, Access Services Manager

Simpson Library, SF Campus (back to top)
nchan@cca.edu | 415.703.9558
Nancy is in charge of circulation and periodicals at Simpson Library. She was hired as a work-study circulation assistant at Meyer Library in 2004, got her painting/drawing BFA from CCA in 2006, and continued to work under various titles at both libraries until landing her present position. She insists that she still draws periodically (when she's not cooking or playing video games).

Cody Hennesy, Systems and Services Librarian

Meyer Library, OAK Campus (back to top)
chennesy@cca.edu l 510.594.3659
Cody is the Systems and Services Librarian at the Meyer Library, which means he's here to (a) help you find stuff, (b) help you learn how to find stuff, and (c) try not to break the library website. Finding stuff is one of his favorite things to do: he previously endeavored to do so at the USF Law Library, and learned all about it in pursuit of an MLIS at San Jose State. Cody also makes up and records music, and occasionally even ventures to perform songs in front of small, sympathetic audiences (with mixed results).

Meyer Library, OAK Campus (back to top)
rlaskey@cca.edu l 510.594.3778
Ruth is responsible for cataloging all materials for the Meyer Library. She has been doing this since 2000 and had previously worked in other capacities at the Meyer Library since coming here as an undergrad. Her earliest memory of CCAC is as a pre-college student (a long time ago). She recently completed her MFA in Painting at CCA--check out her work at www.ruthlaskey.com.

Michael Lordi, Associate Director of Libraries

Simpson Library, SF Campus (back to top)
mlordi@cca.edu l 415.703.9574

Meyer Library, OAK Campus (back to top)
jscarboro@cca.edu l 510.594.3778
Jennine is in charge of periodicals and book repair at the Meyer Library. She is currently building the website for the Capp Street Project Archive. Jennine completed an internship at CCA in 2003, while studying toward her AA in Library Technical Services, which resulted in her hiring in 2004. She holds a BFA in painting/textiles and is now an MFA candidate, in the painting department, at CCA.

Donald Smith, Public Services Manager

Meyer Library, OAK Campus (back to top)
dsmith@cca.edu l 510.594.3610

Donald began library work shelving music and art books at the Boston Public Library in 1980. He moved on to MIT's Rotch Library of Architecture, Art, and Planning where he was Supervisor of Circulation Services until moving to California in 1992. He has worked in libraries at UC Berkeley, City College of San Francisco, and the Academy of Art College.

Laura Smith, Slide Library Assistant emeritus

Meyer Library, OAK Campus (back to top)
Laura began her tenure at CCAC in 1964 as a workstudy student in the slide room. She earned her MFA in 1973 and stayed on as a Staff Assistant in the Media Center, which then managed the slide collection for the art history department. In addition to seeing the library's slide collection grow from several hundred to over 120,000, Laura has seen many changes in the college and says, "I'm still here, and I love the place!"
