Grants from CCA’s Center for Center for Art and Public Life
CCA students can submit proposals to the Center for Art and Public Life for grants to fund community art and design projects that address issues of social justice, diversity, community development, and education. The Center Student Grants are available for up to $3,000 each.
Grant recipient and recent Industrial Design alum Ryan Duke took time off during his final year to travel to Pratania, Brazil, where he worked with an economically under-served artisan group, skilled in the local craft of leather working, to design contemporary products and furniture that could provide them with a means of sustainable income.
Recent Fine Arts graduate Sean Donnelly introduced at-risk teens in Oakland to the work of urban photographers, encouraging them to use the medium in a bold documentary approach that addresses the challenging realities of their lives and communities.
The selection process for the grants is highly competitive and only available to CCA students at the junior, senior, and graduate level. For more information, contact the Center for Art and Public Life.
