The Exhibitionist
Archive Books, 2010
Magazine, 60 pages, $15 per issue
This new journal, edited by Jens Hoffmann (CCA Wattis Institute director), is devoted entirely to the practice of exhibition making. It is made by curators, for curators; the objective is to create a wider platform for the discussion of curatorial concerns, encourage a diversification of curatorial models, and actively contribute to the formation of a theory of curating. It will be published twice a year. This first issue includes essays by Chus Martínez (Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona), Julian Myers (Curatorial Practice faculty), Nancy Spector (Guggenheim Museum), Rob Bowman (Artangel), and Jessica Morgan (Tate Modern).
Hoffmann's other recent publications include the text for John Bock: Klütterkammerthe catalog accompanying an exhibition conceived by Bock as a fantasy compendium of his artistic affiliations, hosted by the Institute of Contemporary Arts in London.
