Congratulations are in order for the entire California College of the Arts Architecture community for securing a 2010 NCARB Prize, announced last week during the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture (ACSA) Annual Meeting Awards Ceremony held in New Orleans.

CCA was awarded the NCARB Prize for Creative Integration of Practice and Education in the Academy for Refract House, the award-winning architectural submission by Team California entered in last year's Solar Decathlon. Team California was a collective effort between CCA and Santa Clara University that not only placed first in the Architecture category but also third overall.

In addition to the noteworthy prestige of the NCARB Prize, a $7,500 award accompanied the honor.

The jury was composed of members of the Council's Practice Education Committee and six academic representatives (deans, heads, or chairs) from academic institutions with NAAB–accredited (National Architectural Accrediting Board) architecture programs, and nominated by NCARB's regional leadership. The jury considered 31 entries representing 23 different colleges and universities.
