Representative work: (l to r) Mark Horton / Architecture, Kuth/Ranieri Architects, Pfau Long Architecture
Three accomplished members of the college’s esteemed Architecture community were recently honored as admits to the AIA’s (American Institute of Architecture) College of Fellows:
Mark G. Horton
Elizabeth Ranieri
Peter W. Pfau
Of the admitted 134 architects from across the United States, 13 are from the Bay Area. Each of the fellows was honored for design from within category one (design, urban design, or preservation), as determined by seven-person jury that looks for "acknowledgment that a candidate's achievements have affected or influenced the profession on a broad scale." A medal ceremony will take place at the AIA’s national convention in Miami in June.
All three honorees are members of the San Francisco chapter of the AIA. Fellowship eligibility requires 10 collective years of membership good standing as well as sponsorship by either an FAIA or AIA member (who also must be in good standing).

About the AIA Fellowship Program
The AIA Fellowship program was developed to elevate those architects who have made a significant contribution to architecture and society and who have achieved a standard of excellence in the profession. Election to Fellowship not only recognizes the achievements of the architect as an individual, but also honors before the public and the profession a model architect who has made a significant contribution to architecture and society on a national level.
