About National Portfolio Day

National Portfolio Day is an excellent opportunity for students pursuing a future in the visual and related arts. Bring your portfolio and questions, and meet with representatives from 40 leading art colleges (see list below) accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD). High school and transfer students are welcomed to attend.

Schedule
Tours and financial aid presentations take place from 10 a.m. to noon.
Portfolio reviews take place from noon to 4 p.m.

Confirmation of receipt of materials cannot be provided. We ask that you verify shipping and receiving via United States Postal Service (USPS) tracking information.

Bring supplies to reseal your package(s), including a prepaid FedEx/UPS label for appropriate return-shipping billing. Otherwise, all materials left behind following the event will be recycled.

Host Hotel

Hotels in the Bay Area can be quite expensive. We have arranged with the Hotel Palomar to offer a special discounted rate of $159/night (not including taxes/fees) for a king deluxe, single-occupancy room for January 14–15. Hotel Palomar is centrally located in the vibrant south of Market Street (SOMA) district and is a neighbor to Westfield Shopping Center, Moscone Center, Union Square. And the hotel is conveniently located within a block from BART, the underground transportation system.

Bay Area Transportation

From San Francisco International Airport (SFO) to Hotel Palomar

Note: All travel times and costs listed below are approximations. Actual times and costs may vary slightly.

• Take the FREE airport shuttle to the SFO BART station
• Purchase a one-way BART ticket; or plan ahead and purchase a round-trip ticket (fees are posted)
• Board any Pittsburgh / Bay Point BART train
• Exit at Powell Street BART station (approximately a 30-minute ride ride)
• Walk one block toward 4th Street

From Hotel Palomar to California College of the Arts

We recommend that you take/share a taxi from the hotel to the college. Instruct the driver your destination is "California College of the Arts at 1111 Eighth Street (at 16th and Wisconsin streets) in the lower Potrero Hill area."
