Aries
March 21-April 19
It’s time to get rid of all that clutter, Aries. And I’m not just talking about all the junk that’s been piling up in your studio over the past few months. Take a deeper look into the aspects of your life that may be hindering your creative nature. If your career hasn’t been moving in the direction you may have been hoping for, maybe it’s time to change paths. It might take a little while to see how this change will affect you positively, and we all know you’re not the most patient of signs, but if you can wait, you’ll definitely be pleased with the results. You may come across a few difficulties at first, but if you can stick to what you’ve started (and I know what you’re thinking: There are just too many ideas to work with! How can I stay focused on just one piece or project when it doesn’t pay off right away?!), you’ll reap the rewards. Remain optimistic and the world will be your oyster.
Taurus
April 20-May 20
Brace yourself, Taurus, because all that creative hard work is about to get recognized. Fame? Make sure you’ve got your sunglasses and anti-paparazzi hand-to-the-face ready! Fortune? Get ready to see some serious activity in your bank account. You’ll have to work hard to get to where you’re going, but you’ve got the stubborn, practical nature to help make sure you don’t give up. Whether it’s a publishing contract for your first novel, a gallery opening for your latest and greatest, or the debut of your clothing line, there are very big things waiting in your very near future. A quick tip, though: Make sure to play the role of diplomat when dealing with others who hold positions of power -- you might need these allies a little later down the road after your 15+ minutes hit!
Gemini
May 21-June 20
If you’ve been itching for a career change (and we all know you have, Gemini -- it’s in your nature to keep looking for the next big thing!), it might be time to go for it. Maybe you should finally start pursuing a path in freelance design, or apply for the illustration position you’ve been so desperately hoping for. But before you embark on your new creative quest, make sure to check in with your mentors, and rely on those networks you’ve been building. Take a painting workshop in New York? Shoot an email to your fellow classmates to see if they know anyone at a gallery who might be interested in your work. Or share that new short story idea with a fellow writer who knows someone who knows someone at a publishing house, and see if you might be able to get your manuscript in front of the right pair of eyes. Make sure to keep an ear open for big opportunities, so you can make that jump without too much hesitation when the time comes . . . and it most certainly will.
Cancer
June 21-July 22
The road ahead is bound to be a bit challenging for you, Cancer, but if you can handle what comes your way, you’re bound to succeed (and make a little extra cash in the process). You tend to be a little on the moody side at times, especially when the immediate future seems a little unpredictable, but this is a time to avoid your inherent pessimism and let what’s bound to happen just happen. You’re going to have to put some genuine hard work into your craft to see the results, though, so be prepared to spend a few extra hours a week in the studio, put a little extra muscle into shaping that new piece, or tear your hands up a bit on your equipment. You may face some jealousy and competition from other artists, but know that if you work hard and don’t let the evolutionary process of the next few months get you down, you’ll be the one who comes out on top.
Leo
July 23-August 22
You’re about to get totally slammed with work. But you’re not fazed, Leo -- this is exactly what you’ve been waiting for. It’s time to step up to the plate with a plethora of new projects and opportunities that will put you right into the leadership position you crave. You’re definitely deserving of a promotion or a raise in the very near future (just make sure you don’t blow all that forthcoming money on something frivolous before it even gets here; remember, you don’t really need that antique wooden side table, or the next-big-thing piece you saw at your favorite gallery last weekend, so try to curb that natural desire to overspend on the latest and greatest). You can get ready to start living the high life, Leo . . . but if we’re being honest, you’ve probably been prepping for quite some time already.
Virgo
August 23-September 22
You’ve got a few hurdles to face, Virgo, but try not to worry too much; you’ll get the appropriate recognition for all your hard work at the end of the day. You’ll have to push the higher-ups to give you the go-ahead for your dream projects, and this may start to wear you down. Don’t give up, though, because once you start to see the fruits of your efforts, you’ll know it was all worth that pain and worry -- and your superiors will, too. Get ready to meet more people who can help further your creative career as well, in really big ways (Steven Spielberg, perhaps? Or Anna Wintour?) Check out all the conferences, workshops, and openings you can, so you can mingle with new crowds and start making lasting impressions. And if you get the chance to fly to India, São Paulo, or Paris for a project, meeting, or just a random getaway, it’s definitely time to pack up that suitcase and hit the skies!
Libra
September 23-October 22
You’re feeling easy like Sunday morning, Libra, and it’s a welcome feeling after all the pressure you’ve been handling lately. Get ready for a series of extended deadlines, uncomplicated exhibits, and ideas that seem to flow straight from your brain through your fingertips. But make sure you’re careful not to overspend -- just because money’s coming easier for you now doesn’t mean you’re making any more of it. Even though you’ve gotten used to the tumultuous ebb and flow of rejection letters, proposal acceptances, and high-powered gallery shows, enjoy this free and easy time -- they don’t always come as often as we’d like. And when things do start to finally speed back up, be careful not to exhaust yourself in the excitement, or everything you’ve built up in these more carefree times will most certainly go to waste.
Scorpio
October 23-November 21
You’re scheduled for a reinvention, Scorpio, and as with any new beginning, you might be facing a few bumps in the road. Your instinctual reaction to your fear of starting over can be quiet aggression and a refusal to forgive those who get in your way, but practicing patience and keeping your cool will work out better for you in the end -- at least this time around. Use that extra anxious energy to come up with a longer-term plan that will serve your ultimate creative goals, and figure out where it’s best to start. Revamp your résumé and portfolio, revisit and revise your work, and take your time when starting new projects so you can begin figuring out exactly where you want to end up. Take the more reasonable path here, Scorpio (for you, sometimes, the less-traveled one), and your work will be recognized and appreciated in ways you never could have imagined. And remember, it’s usually better to think outside of the box!
Sagittarius
November 22-December 21
Travel and technology are set to be big players in your life over the next few months, Sagittarius. If a career opportunity from a faraway land comes knocking, it might be the right time to take a gamble and see what happens. Go ahead and seek out the commission you need to take photographs for that coffee table travel book, or take off on an adventure to sketch the cloud-covered mountains of Nepal. Do you play around with computers, digital film, or other types of new media in your work? If not, you might want to think about checking out a few gadgets and seeing how they can further enhance your creative pursuits. You’re destined for greatness in the near future, Sag, but whatever you do, don’t let this success go to your head. If you start allowing yourself to rest on your laurels, your overinflated ego is the only thing that can (and will) hold you back.
Capricorn
December 22-January 19
You know the old saying, “Make new friends, but keep the old”? Now is the time to take it to heart, Capricorn. Your ultimate goals will become much clearer in the upcoming months, and you’re set to meet a whole lot of people who will help inspire and guide you along the way. You should network as much as possible in the upcoming weeks and months, and begin to build a strong circle of friends and acquaintances who will support you and your career for years to come. Spirituality may start to play a bigger role in your life as well, and a new way of thinking may begin to drive your creative spirit. In fact, it’s possible that your work will begin to develop a deeper focus on more enlightened subjects, so get ready to inject a little “Om” into your artistic routine.
Aquarius
January 20-February 18
It’s finally okay to sit back and relax, Aquarius -- you’ve earned it! After all the hard work, sweat, and blood (okay, maybe that’s taking it a bit far) that’s gone into your creative endeavors, you might be feeling like you’ve been going a little crazy. But you’re about to experience all the fruits of your labor -- and there will be lots of them. There is a catch, though, but hopefully for someone as spontaneous as you, it won’t be a problem: You have to throw that nagging hesitation right out the window, and don’t wait around to say goodbye. The only way you’ll see the rewards of your past efforts is by taking chances on new passion projects, and having the confidence to know that you will succeed. So go ahead and take a chance on that vision you’ve been dreaming up! There’s really nothing to worry about, Aquarius, because at this point, the whole world has got your back.
Pisces
February 19-March 20
Look out, Pisces, because great things are on the way. The upcoming weeks and months will bring a sense of serenity and peace, and this easygoing mentality might pull you out of touch with reality a bit. But it’s all for the best -- this new perspective will be very helpful in your creative visions and endeavors, and inspire you to take chances you might not have before. This state of mind may make you easily distracted, but force your focus and be sure to finish what you start. However, this dreamy mindset also means that you might want to put any big, life-changing decisions on the back burner for a while. Just replace those notions of home or career changes with new art or writing projects, for the time being. Inheritance plays a part in your near future, too, so get ready to acquire some new possessions that may just push your ongoing creative evolution up a notch or two.
