The AP Art class from Piedmont High School visited CCA Glass Department this past Fall for a hands on field trip. Led by PHS Instructor Gillian Bailey, the students made glass paperweights in the Hot Shop and fired painted imagery onto glass drinking cups with glass enamels.
Guido Gherlitz, visiting Glass Faculty to CCA, along with CCA Faculty Pamina Traylor, and CCA Glass students, taught hot glass paperweight making, and CCA Faculty Elin Christopherson, and Studio Manager Bill Sistek, taught enamel painting.
Their first time working with glass, Piedmont High School students enjoyed the fast-paced and productive day at CCA and made glass art that they were able to take home.
