CIO POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

CCA has begun the search for a new CIO to lead the college's technology efforts. The CIO will be expected to provide long range strategic planning to the College and will manage the information technology function of the institution. As a member of the President’s Cabinet, the CIO will be responsible for crafting a vision and technology strategy which is in alignment with CCA’s academic mission, unifying the IT division and its resources, integrating IT services across the college, and serving as a technology ambassador/advocate for the College. Bay Bridge Opens

As of 9 a.m. Monday morning, the Bay Bridge, connecting San Francisco and Oakland, has reopened. CCA's normal intercampus shuttle schedule will resume with the 11 a.m. departure from Webster Hall in Oakland and the 11:20 a.m. departure from the San Francisco campus.

Building the REFRACT House

The REFRACT House is an innovative solar project created by Team California (CCA and University of Santa Clara architecture and design students) in the 2009 Solar Decathlon, a high-profile competition sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy.

The competition focuses on a crucial global problem—the ever-increasing need for energy—and offers real solutions, including renewable energy sources and ways to use energy more efficiently.

Bay Bridge Reopened

The Bay Bridge will reopen this morning. However, due to the anticipated traffic back-up during the first few hours, we will resume our regular CCA student shuttle service as of 11:00am.

Until then, the following service will be in place:

OAKLAND:

Continuous shuttle runs between Webster Hall, the Oakland campus and the Rockridge BART Station are scheduled from:

  • 7:00 a.m. to 10:00am

NOTE: the 51 AC Transit bus will also pick up & drop off near Webster Hall, the Oakland campus, and the Rockridge BART Station.

Bay Bridge Closure Extended

Please note that the Bay Bridge, connecting Oakland and San Francisco, will not reopen at 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday (9/8) as originally planned. Caltrans officials are estimating that the bridge will reopen at 5:00 a.m. on Wednesday (9/9). As a result of the extended bridge closure, the regular campus shuttle service will continue to be disrupted.

Limited service will be available to make up for the shuttle runs that would normally take place on Tuesday as follows:

Navigating the Bay Bridge Closure

Labor Day Weekend Intercampus Shuttle Schedule

Please be aware the Bay Bridge, connecting Oakland and San Francisco, will be closed Thursday, September 3, from 8 p.m. until Tuesday, September 8, at 5 a.m. While the college will remain open for business as usual on Friday, September 4, each campus will be closed on Labor Day (Monday, September 7).

R.A.W. Video Winners Spring 2009

Stephen Beal Named President of CCA

Threads Fashion Show Gala 2006

We invite you to join us for one of the season's most exciting fundraising events, the annual Threads Fashion Show Gala.

Threads will take place on Wednesday, May 10, 2006 at Fort Mason Center's Festival Pavilion in San Francisco, and will once again showcase the innovative work of CCA's top student designers.

The evening will include a cocktail reception, an elegant dinner, presentation of the seventh annual CCA Fashion Show, and an after-party.

Tickets

Single tickets are available at $250 and $500. Tables may be purchased at $5,000 and $10,000.
