Deadline: 2010 College Cartoonist Contest

The deadline for the StudentAffairs.com 2010 College Cartoonist Contest, a competition for college and graduate student cartoonists, is December 10, 2010. Winning entries will be featured on the StudentAffairs.com website. Students need to submit two cartoons on the theme of "Campus Life and Technology".

1st Place: $300.00
2nd Place: $200.00
3rd Place: $100.00

A $20.00 fee will be paid for all accepted comic strips that do not win one of the top three prizes in the 2010 College Cartoonist Contest.

The Asian Art Museum Wants Your Opinion, Chance to Win $200

The Asian Art Museum is interested in finding out what San Francisco Bay Area residents think about contemporary art. This feedback will help the museum expand its presentation of contemporary art exhibitions, events, and programs. The online survey takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. Pumpkin Carving Contest

Carved pumpkins will be on display in the Center Gallery on the Oakland campus, and the CCA community will be able to vote for their favorite pumpkin throughout the week of October 25–30. Voting will also take place on the CCA Chimera Council page on Facebook. Friend us and vote!

SF Arts Market: Applications Now Open

SFMOMA: Free Admission for CCA Students

In 2006 the James Family Foundation provided a grant to SFMOMA supporting free admission to students attending California College of the Arts, San Francisco Art Institute, and Academy of Art University. The James Family Foundation grant has been extended until the end of 2010.

To receive free admission at SFMOMA, CCA students must show their current student ID card (with a validation sticker). Validation stickers must be obtained from the Public Safety office on either campus every semester.

MYARTSPACE Launches 2010 Art Scholarships, $16, 000 Cash Awards

For the third consecutive year, MYARTSPACE is offering $16,000 in cash scholarships to art students. Registration is free. The deadline is December 12, 2010. Art students currently enrolled in undergraduate and graduate study are encouraged to apply.
