Jeremy Mende, Herzog, 2007, poster
A poster campaign for SFMOMA’s Werner Herzog film festival. Simple descriptions (conquistador, soldier, baron, mystic, etc.) were written to blur the descriptions of Herzog’s maniacal characters with those of the director himself. The typography was painstakingly drawn by hand to indicate the director’s obsession with control, authorship, and celebrity.
Part of artist's portfolio submission for jury consideration in the 2010 Rome Prize Competition.
