Intern Experiences

"Working for San Francisco magazine was an interesting experience. I always wanted to experience firsthand what it was like to work on a magazine.

"I worked with the art department as a photo and research intern. They sent me on photo shoots around the Bay Area, including product photography. They also asked me to do their photo research for them, meaning that I was searching for photos online and making lots of phone calls.

"Overall, I worked at San Francisco magazine a few days a week for three months. It was an invaluable experience to learn what qualities magazine editors look for in photographers' work."

"An internship is an introduction to the commerical world of design and an opportunity to explore ways to apply what we have learned in the classroom.

"Working at Volume Design in San Francisco has been a unique and valuable experience for me. I am learning more about the print production process and getting to observe firsthand the dynamics of operating a small but growing company."

"Interning at SF Camerawork gave me the opportunity to become part of an art community outside of California College of the Arts. During the eight months that I interned there, I formed several strong professional relationships, met a variety of dynamic, motivated people, and gained valuable insight into how a gallery, particularly a nonprofit gallery, operates.

"Not only did I have the opportunity to work with a group of fun, socially conscious, artistic people, but I was also able to expand on my photo skills, as well as write summaries of books and artists featured in SF Camerawork's journals."
