2010 Supporters: Blick Art Materials and Peerless Lighting
Every year several outstanding organizations show their support for the efforts made by CCA's Career Services Office, in helping prepare, connect, and transition CCA's emerging artists, designers, and architects into valuable members of the creative working world. Much of programing Career Services does is made possible in part by the generous support of companies such as these and their investment in the talent of tomorrow!
About 2010 Career Expo Supporters
Blick Art Materials produced its first catalog in 1911 in the form of a small pamphlet issued by the company’s two founding partners, Mr. and Mrs. Dick Blick. The warehouse was located in their kitchen and their shipping department was the local post office. Their first product was a lettering pen, which quickly became a bestseller.
One hundred years later, Blick Art Materials remains family owned and has grown to become the premier art-supply source for professional artists and students. Blick’s 30 retail locations are renowned for supporting the arts—sponsoring schools, art leagues, and community groups across the country.

Peerless Lighting makes lighting for people and the places they inhabit. For generations the Peerless name has been synonymous with leading-edge design and an extraordinary quality of illumination. Due in large part to the organization's research emphasis, Peerless is known for creating some of the industry’s most advanced and sophisticated products.
The company studies how light affects people, physically and psychologically. It creates tools to more accurately measure light and to help professionals better predict the effects of proposed designs. Throughout the design process, Peerless employees painstakingly examine every aspect of how a product will perform: how it will appear and be experienced in the environment; how efficiently it can be installed and maintained; and what it will cost to operate over the course of its useful life.
Peerless also conducts frequent seminars to educate and exchange information about the principles and effects of architectural lighting.
