Commencement
CCA's 2011 commencement ceremony, the 104th, took place at the Concourse Exhibition Center in San Francisco, conveniently adjacent to the San Francisco campus.
Honorary Doctorates
He has been hailed as a pioneer of Conceptual art; she has been honored as Woman of the Year by the California State Legislature for her community activism. CCA recognized two extraordinary octogenarians—John Baldessari and Betty Reid Soskin—with honorary doctorate degrees at the 2011 commencement ceremony.

About 2012 Commencement
The 2012 commencement ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 12, 2012, and will last approximately two and a half hours.
The Concourse Exhibition Center
The Concourse Exhibition Center, a former railway station, is conveniently located at 620 7th Street (between Brannan and Townsend streets). The ceremony takes place in East Hall. Participants enter the building using the 7th Street entrance.

Limited parking is available at the Concourse Exhibition Center parking lot. Graduating students and their guests can access the parking lot for a $12 flat fee, space permitting.
Street parking is available on the San Francisco campus. Graduating students and their guests are encouraged to park on campus and walk to the Concourse Exhibition Center.

- Noon — Doors open
- 1:00 p.m. — Commencement lineup (students only)
- 1:15 p.m. — Doors open for guests—Auditorium (tickets are required; limited seating).
- 1:55 p.m. — The main entry doors to East Hall close for the procession.
- 2:00 p.m. — Commencement ceremony—Auditorium (ceremony concludes approximately 4:30 p.m.)
- 5:00 p.m. — Celebration for new alumni on the San Francisco campus at 1111 Eighth Street. Graduates and guests are invited to a reception hosted by the Alumni Council immediately following the ceremony.
Photos
As a service to degree candidates and their families, a professional photographer will capture images of each candidate during the scroll presentation.

Honorary Doctorates
Faculty, students, alumni, and the Board of Trustees nominate members of the artistic or civic communities to receive honorary doctorates of fine arts at commencement. This honor is bestowed in recognition of an individual's outstanding artistic achievement and eminence in one or more of the art fields and/or leadership in the arts, or significant leadership contributions through civic support of the arts.
