Summer Financial Aid

CCA scholarships (ranging from $650 to $1,950) are available to matriculated students who enroll in a minimum of 3 units of on-campus summer coursework that will apply toward their degree.

Stafford loans are available for matriculated students enrolled in at least 3 units of summer coursework.

Scholarships are scaled to reflect expenses for summer enrollment and will be awarded based on financial need, academic merit, and enrollment.

The deadline to submit applications for summer financial aid has passed.

Note that Stafford loans received during the summer term count toward aggregate borrowing totals (the total outstanding loan principal you may borrow as a student) and the receipt of aid for the summer term will be counted against the total number of semesters of eligibility students have for receiving financial aid while at CCA.

Study Abroad Courses

Students who attend CCA-sponsored study abroad courses are eligible for loans only. The tuition for these courses is already discounted and includes housing costs.

The summer aid application for study abroad courses must be submitted to the Financial Aid Office and the FAFSA submitted to the U.S. Department of Education by Monday, February 25, 2008, in order to receive an award by March 21, 2008. If you miss this deadline, submit your materials as soon as possible.

Summer Course Registration

Once students have submitted a financial aid application, they can then register for the course in the Student Records Office.

Student Accounts has a list of students who have applied for financial aid and will assume that these students will receive the minimum loan award. This amount typically covers the cost of registration and tuition for a summer course (including study abroad); however, if a tuition balance not covered by financial aid exits, that balance must be paid at the time of registration.

Note: Students who will complete their degree requirements in the summer may not be eligible for the full Stafford Loan amounts.

No applications for summer financial aid will be accepted after May 1, 2008.
