Create a Named or Endowed Scholarship at CCA
Why Create a Named or Endowed Scholarship
When you create a named or endowed scholarship, you give the gift of education and provide critical assistance for talented students who otherwise could not afford to attend California College of the Arts.
As a named scholarship donor, you receive an annual report on your scholarship fund and on the student recipients. You have an opportunity to meet the students at CCA’s annual Scholarship Dinner. If you wish, when your scholarship is awarded, CCA informs students of the fund’s origin and provides background on the individual behind it.
To create a named or endowed fund, contact the CCA Advancement Office at 510.594.3787, or email Emma Sonduck at esonduck@cca.edu.
Endowed Scholarships
Endowed scholarship funds start with a minimum gift of $25,000. The larger the gift, the greater the impact it has relieving the tuition burden for talented students. Endowed scholarships are invested in their entirety, and awards are made from interest earned. The college earmarks 5 percent (based on a three-year rolling average) of the corpus value for scholarship awards. Any interest earned above 5 percent is reinvested into the principal allowing the corpus to grow over time.
Annual Named Scholarships
An annual named scholarship begins with a minimum gift of $5,000 (again the larger the gift the greater the impact). The gift is awarded in full as scholarships over specified period of time (typically one academic year).
Why Give to Scholarship

“I feel so fortunate to be at CCA. If it weren’t for my scholarship, I would not be able to afford this education.” -- Kalee Abella (Graphic Design 2013)
