The public relations team ensures that the public stays informed about the contributions and successes of the college by delivering clear and consistent messages to the media on behalf of CCA. The team works closely with faculty and others in the college community to generate media coverage for newsworthy issues, programs, and events.
The public relations staff have experience working with the media, and have established ongoing relationships with journalists, editors, and broadcast media professionals. They can assist you in promoting your program or department by getting the pertinent information to the appropriate media outlets. It’s important to note however, that unlike with paid advertising media outreach does not guarantee a media placement.
To ensure a consistent image and a professional relationship with the media, all matters pertaining to media relations and outreach should be managed by, or coordinated with, the public relations team. This includes sending press releases, pitching story ideas to the media, inviting the media to cover newsworthy events, arranging interviews, and responding to press requests.
