Editor's note: Sadly, Anne Marino escaped our world on April 29, 2014, after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer. She was a tremendous influence on countless CCA students, faculty, staff, and alumni.

Anne N. Marino wrote the novel The Collapsible World (WW Norton & Co.), which was a first novel finalist for the Heekin Group Foundation fellowship and was selected as an “Editors Recommend” in the San Francisco Chronicle. The Collapsible World has been optioned to be made into a feature film.

Her work has appeared in the San Francisco Chronicle, the San Francisco Chronicle Sunday Magazine,, Really Great Books, Public House, Criminal Class, and other publications.

She’s received fellowships from the Ucross Foundation, the MacDowell Colony, and Casa Libre en la Solano, and was a visiting writer at SUNY College at Buffalo and a 2011 visiting artist at the American Academy in Rome.

She has taught creative writing at UC Berkeley Extension and other workshops.
