Bret Parker graduated from Oberlin College in 1991 with a bachelor's in English/Performance and went on to earn an MFA in the Netherlands where she graduated in 1994.

After moving to the Bay Area in 1996 she started working as a production assistant at Pixar Animation Studio to make ends meet while she was writing performance pieces, but quickly realized not only did she love animation and how much it made sense with her dance/theater background but also she could actually get a job doing something she loved in the arts!

Working lots of late nights, she studied the principles of animation and put together a reel. It paid off; her first official job as an animator was doing fix animation on A Bug's Life. Almost 13 years later Bret is still working at Pixar and has animated on almost every film. (Her current project is top secret.)

Bret has meanwhile continued to create and perform her own work.
