Hugo is an award-winning creative director who works with a diverse and influential clientele including Alessi, Pfizer, American Express, Ford, Olympus, Honda and Nike. Hugo's work spans categories applying insights, innovations and strategies from one industry to inform and inspire solutions in another.
During a career over two decades, Hugo has worked with design industry giants Bill Moggridge (IDEO), Sir Rodney Fitch (Fitch Inc), and Sir Terence Conran (The Conran Group). Hugo's career began at the prestigious Royal College of Art, studying under Pentagram's Daniel Weil. He joined IDEO, the renowned design strategy agency, in 1995 before founding his own London studio in 1998. In 2003 Hugo emigrated to America as Sir Rodney Fitch's director of global product development, winning the Fitch consultancy nine awards in three years. After a period in New York, Hugo returned to London to work with Sir Terence Conran, as MD of Conran's product, packaging and branding studio. In 2012 he joined Native Design, specializing in business innovation programs including the hugely innovative Gutenberg programme for Pernod Ricard. In 2014 Hugo returned to America, establishing Special Projects Office in California, the centre of global product development.
